Long lines at electronics stores in Japan translate to big sales of Resident Evil 5, with the survival horror game selling just shy of 400,000 copies in its first week on the market.

About 80% of those were of the PlayStation 3 variety, which topped the Media Create charts by a considerable margin. The Xbox 360 version of rummy satta RE5 sold well enough to score third place, finishing behind Sega’s new role-playing game for the Nintendo DS, Seventh Dragon.
